Binaural Studio is built and run by one person — Drew — who got curious about binaural beats, went looking for a generator that didn't come wrapped in mysticism, and couldn't find one worth recommending.

The tools that existed fell into two camps: slick subscription apps that overpromised, and bare-bones tone generators with no guidance at all. Nothing in the middle treated the topic the way it deserves — as a genuinely interesting, modestly supported, completely free-to-try listening practice.

The philosophy

Three rules govern everything on this site:

1. The audio is honest. The studio generates mathematically exact beats using your browser's own audio engine. No renamed MP3s, no "proprietary frequencies," no secret sauce — you can read the math on every band page.

2. The claims are conservative. Every use-case guide separates what's well-supported (masking, ritual, relaxation) from what's speculative (entrainment effects on performance). The research feed rates evidence strength in plain language and links to the actual studies.

3. The tool is free and private. Sessions run entirely on your device. No account, no tracking, no paywall between you and a 3 Hz tone, which — let's be honest — would be an absurd thing to charge for.

Why "Studio"

Because it's a place to work with sound, not a clinic and not a temple. You bring the intent; the studio brings precise, quiet tools.
