Privacy

Binaural Studio is designed to be useful without requiring an account. This page explains what information may be collected when you use the site, why it is used, and which services help operate the site.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, Binaural Studio receives basic technical information when you visit. Depending on the service involved, this may include your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, approximate location derived from an IP address, referral information, and timestamps.

The site also uses Google Tag Manager to manage measurement tools, including Google Analytics. These tools help us understand things like which pages are visited, how people arrive at the site, and how the Studio is used. Analytics services may use cookies or similar browser technologies depending on their configuration and your browser settings.

Information you choose to provide

If you use the contact form, you provide a name, email address, and message. That information is used to read and respond to your inquiry. Contact form messages are sent through Resend, an email delivery provider.

Binaural Studio currently does not require visitor accounts, payment information, or profile information to use the public listening and educational tools.

How information is used

Information may be used to:

  • operate, maintain, and secure the website;
  • understand site and Studio usage;
  • identify technical problems or abusive traffic;
  • improve content, tools, and listening experiences; and
  • respond to questions, corrections, or partnership inquiries.

Binaural Studio does not sell personal information. Information collected through the contact form is not used to build advertising profiles.

Service providers

Binaural Studio relies on a small number of third-party services to operate the site. These currently include Vercel for website hosting and infrastructure, Google services for analytics and tag management, and Resend for contact-form email delivery. Those providers may process technical or personal information as necessary to provide their services and are subject to their own privacy practices.

Security and abuse prevention

Technical information may be used to detect abuse and protect the site and its services. For example, requests to certain endpoints may be rate-limited based on network information such as an IP address. No security system can guarantee that information will never be accessed or disclosed improperly, but the site is designed to collect as little personal information as practical for its current functions.

Data retention

Analytics and hosting providers may retain technical information according to their configured retention periods and policies. Contact messages may be retained for as long as they are reasonably useful for responding to the inquiry, maintaining a record of the conversation, or meeting operational needs.

Research and experiments

Binaural Studio may introduce optional public experiments or research participation features in the future. If an activity collects information beyond ordinary website analytics, the information being collected, its purpose, and any relevant consent terms will be explained before participation. This privacy page should not be read as consent to participate in a research activity.

Third-party links

Articles and research pages may link to journals, research papers, institutions, products, or other external websites. Binaural Studio does not control the privacy practices of those websites.

Your choices

You can limit or delete cookies through your browser settings and may use browser privacy controls or extensions that restrict analytics technologies. If you have contacted Binaural Studio and want to ask about information you provided, use the contact form and describe your request.

Changes to this page

This page may be updated as Binaural Studio adds tools, experiments, service providers, or different ways of collecting information. The date at the top will be updated when material changes are made.
