The setup

Sleep sessions live at the slow end: a beat between 2–4 Hz, a low soft carrier (100–200 Hz), and brown noise doing most of the audible work. The Sleep preset (3 Hz) is the direct route. The Hypnagogic Dip journey is built specifically for the transition: it starts at a wakeful 10 Hz, drifts down to 6 Hz across the middle of the session, and holds there while you (ideally) stop being awake to notice.

How to use it

  1. Volume matters more here than anywhere else — set it barely above audible
  2. Use the WAV export to render a session and play it from a sleep-friendly device, rather than keeping a bright screen by the bed
  3. Isochronic mode works over a room speaker if wearing headphones in bed is miserable (it usually is)
  4. Same time, same audio, most nights — consistency is the actual active ingredient

What to actually expect

Audio can make the runway to sleep more comfortable: it masks noise, occupies a restless mind, and signals that the day is over. What it can't do is override stress, caffeine, or a disrupted schedule — and persistent insomnia deserves a clinician, not a longer playlist. Treat this as sleep hygiene, not sleep medicine.
